I just moved back to Charlottesville after being away for a while and I had forgotten how beautiful it is here! The downtown mall and the mountains! But this town has its problems, despite being all number one and junk...
(Really.)
This town, it's a lot like the friends you never get to see because they're living completely hip lives in Toronto or Austin and you're utterly irrationally envious, but then every year when they come for the holidays, they hit on your husband and get really drunk and treat all the wait staff at restaurants like shit then throw them large tips, assuming that will make up for their asinine behavior but it doesn't and you get really embarrassed - that's...
C'ville!
If you disagree pick up the free rag by the same name and read the "RANT" section-it abounds with copious examples.
Or not, I don't care.
On a lighter note, this town does provide awesome opportunities to support local farmers. They have an awesome farmers market on Saturdays (spring through fall) and they have numerous Community supported agriculture programs (my family and I support the Scottsville CSA )
And if, like me, you are too damn poor to go to the numerous fancy restaurants in town, go online and get recipes for all that good produce you got! Try here for a cornucopia of recipes!
